A workshop for adults to explore clown as a potent source for creating in any artistic discipline. No performance experience necessary, just a willingness to be open, present and play. We will focus on: listening with the whole body overcoming fear through fun, breath, and a sense of pleasure discovering how to “be” without needing to perform embracing the joy and power of failure using physicalization to inspire and develop material exploring how to find humour without trying to be funny Students are expected to attend all six sessions and prepare assignments in between. You will need to wear neutral, comfortable clothing that you can move in freely. We’ll meet on six consecutive Sundays: Oct. 18 & 25, Nov. 1, 8 & 15 from 2 pm – 6 pm, and Nov. 22 from 2 pm – 8 pm. Deep Dive – All six sessions: $350.00 OR Dippity Do – First three sessions only: $175.00. Reduction available for under- and unwaged. Maximum 10 participants. Contact [email protected] for further details or with questions. _______________________ Instructor Diana Kolpak’s theatrical clown adventures during the past three decades and include being the first-ever Canadian invited to perform at clownin , Vienna’s international festival of women clowns, seeking stars in frozen wastelands, performing liposuction on herself, dancing as a prima ballerina, lion taming, fighting epic cream pie battles and embodying a mermaid-turned- lounge-singer.
