Bat Night at Comox Lake – CVRD Watershed Awareness Days

Location TBA

Come learn all about bats in the watershed with Cumberland Forest and North Island BC Communtity Bat Program naturalists Heather Thomson and Meaghan Cursons. These nocturnal mammals play underrated and vitally important roles in our ecosystem and watershed, yet some species are at risk. What makes them fascinating, what makes them at-risk and what can we do? Come learn. We’ll follow it up by a lake-shore walk detecting bats using Echometer technology to help us determine the species based on their unique ultrasonic signature. Please bring a chair and headlamp or flashlight. Meet us at the Comox Lake Picnic Pavillion by 8:15 pm. This event is co-hosted by CCFS and LPS, and is part of the CVRD’s Watershed Awareness week. It’s free and open to the public!
